NITOC 2015 is going to have Electronic Script Submission.

That's one less line to stand in at check in!

Tournaments can already be stressful. We want to eliminate the stress of wondering if a script will be allowed at NITOC 2015 by approving every speech event script submission prior to your arrival at Bob Jones University. Won't that be nice!

Stoa is a national organization that allows local clubs to run their tournaments in a way that best suits their region. For instance, there are differences across the country in how tournaments hold their competitors accountable through the script submission process. Some areas require scripts to be turned in at registration, some allow for "in-club" approvals, while others don't have any sort of script submission process.

In order for your NITOC 2015 registration to be complete, there is a mandatory electronic script submission requirement. It's simple and will remove an extra line (and extra stress!) during on-site check-in at Bob Jones University. Here's how to do it!

MANDATORY ELECTRONIC SCRIPT SUBMISSION

HOW TO SUBMIT SCRIPTS ELECTRONICALLY:

Submit by Email To: nitocscripts2015@stoausa.org

Please do not send zipped or shared files

Starts: Thursday, March 26

Ends: Monday, May 4, at 11:59PM

Email Subject Line Should Read: Name & Type of Event (For example: Van Schalin - Presidential Oratory)

Scanned and emailed items must include the following:

  • Script Submission forms: Physically signed, initialed, scanned and sent to nitocscripts2015@stoausa.org electronically..
  • All script materials: Easy to read, pages are not upside-down, and highlighting clearly shown in the scanned photocopies.

Please only include one script per email.

Script approval: After a script submission approval has been sent to you from the approval team, print the approval email and just have it handy, or keep it on your smart phone in case we need to see it.

Helpful Tip: As an added backup, you may want to cc your own email when you send your individual script submissions and keep those emails in your inbox until after NITOC.

You only need to come to the on-site script submission table if your script submission was a provisional interp script rather than complete. Note: Provisional is only for interpretive speeches with more than 10 original source pages. (See below for details.)

Special Accommodation for Interpretive Speeches Only:

Standard E-Script Submission Option: (Those with more than 10 pages of original source material may still use the standard e-script option.)

  • A completed script submission form
  • Title and copyright pages from the original source of your speech
  • All the original source material photocopied, highlighted, and scanned
  • The typewritten version of your interpretive speech

If you have TOO MANY PAGES TO SCAN use the PROVISIONAL E-SCRIPT SUBMISSION APPROVAL OPTION:

  • Scan only ten pages from the original source (Please try to include the page with your introduction and pages with the majority of added words.)

  • Bring ALL of the source pages, along with the provisional approval email to the script submission table at NITOC for final approval.

All other parts of the script submission must be submitted electronically for a provisional approval.
AGAIN PLEASE DO NOT SEND ZIPPED OR SHARED FILES!

Pictures of pages can be taken and sent via email, but a large amount of page photos may have to be sent in groupings. If this is the case, please indicate this in your subject line. (For example: Van Schalin - Presidential Oration 1 of 3.)

DETAILS & INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Please go over the checklists linked below with your coach or parent before sending us your material.
  • Please double-check the current rules for script submission on the Stoa website.
  • Don't transmit a script submission that is missing anything, including your physically signed and initialed script submission forms.

IMPORTANT!: If you make any changes to your script after you have sent your script submission, please email an updated version to the approval team.

The Stoa Speech Committee is overseeing the electronic script submission process for NITOC 2015.
